How a New Website Is Helping Fight Hunger in Eastern Wisconsin

The impact of a website isn’t always measured in clicks or page views. Sometimes, it’s measured by the people it helps.

Since launching its latest website in 2025, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin has seen its Pantry Locator feature become one of its most valuable community resources; averaging more than 5,000 visits each month while helping connect individuals and families with food assistance across eastern Wisconsin.

To bring that vision to life, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin partnered with Northeast Wisconsin-based Vector Web Solutions to build a website  designed to connect people with essential resources as quickly and easily as possible.

At the heart of the website is the Pantry Locator tool. Visitors can search for nearby food pantries, meal programs, emergency shelters, and other food assistance resources based on their location, making it easy to find the closest available help when every minute counts. Instead of searching multiple websites or making phone calls, users can quickly access accurate, up-to-date information from their computer or mobile device.

The value of the tool became even more apparent during periods of increased community need – especially a recent government shutdown. As demand for food assistance grew, traffic to the pantry locator nearly doubled, demonstrating how important accessible digital resources have become for individuals and families seeking immediate support.

Technology alone cannot solve hunger, but it can remove barriers to finding help. For thousands of eastern Wisconsin residents each month, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin’s new website is doing exactly that – connecting people with food, shelter, and hope, one search at a time.
